Compulsory Carbon Monoxide Alarms
There is discussion about making Carbon Monoxide alarms compulsory. Currently they are required only where solid fuel is burnt. However best practice says they should be used wherever any fuel is burnt, therefore we always advise people to fit these alarms wherever there is a gas or oil boiler.
It appears the Government want to remove any uncertainty and legislate for this best practice approach. As always, the timing is unknown. If you want to know more read our factsheet about the current rules.
