Why use Maxine Lester?

Since we started in 2005 we have focused on providing expert, honourable and personal lettings support.  We have consistently delivered, with our owners and residents repeatedly voting us as the best agent in East Anglia since 2014.

We are lettings specialists, which we deliver exceptionally: We do not provide estate agency services, so you know you will get 100% focus on the support you need to make property rental a success.

Over the years we have won many awards for the quality of the service we provide. These have been judged by both you our customer and our peers within the business.

But the best recommendation we receive is when a resident then chooses to work with us as an owner. It tells us we have looked after both parts of what can be a very difficult business to manage.

You will doubtless see we receive many Google reviews from both owners and residents. Our reviews are just for lettings – our competitors reviews tend to be for their estate agency, not their lettings work. Our reviews from Owners are overwhelmingly positive. Any negative reviews tend to come from residents, almost entirely related to the end of tenancy. It appears they are unhappy about our diligence in claiming reasonable costs for our Owners. Strangely they leave bad reviews but rarely rarely request a formal external adjudication; we assume because they know we have been fair and reasonable.

Getting on the market


Most residents will search for properties online, therefore, it is of huge importance to present our listings in the best possible way.  The expert presentation of our Maxine Lester properties has led to us being consistently the top rated agent on ‘Rightmove’ locally for the ‘click through’ rate of our advertised properties.  Basically this means that we really do know how to entice viewers with our professional marketing, great photography, catchy descriptions and informative brochures. We also know how to make sure your property is advertised with all the required ‘;material information’ to be compliant.

But it’s not all about straightforward advertising. This business is all about people. When we pick up the phone to a potential resident we find out as much as we can about them to form an opinion about them as suitable residents.


Finding a great resident

We do not want someone moving into your property who we would not put into our own properties. So after accompanied viewings and careful applicant vetting we undertake comprehensive checks and referencing.

Once you have accepted the applicants, we will ensure that all relevant paperwork is properly drawn-up, signed and recorded to provide you with the best protection, before we then check your residents into your property. Without this paperwork and all communication done properly you may not be able to evict the residents if needed.

We offer a range of on-going rental support to suit your needs, ranging from simply finding you a resident to our all-inclusive concierge package.

What does it cost?

As it is important for you to know how much things cost we have openly published our charges since 2010. We know we may not always be the lowest headline price, but our customers tell us we provide excellent value for money.  Full details of our charges are shown in the owner service details, or we have a sheet available here to allow you to compare all packages on one sheet.

In 2015 the law came in-line with our practice and it became a legal requirement for letting agents to show all their fees, inclusive of VAT, online and in their offices.  Surprisingly many still do not comply. If your agent does not openly publish their fees then you may be wise not to trust them to be open with you, or compliant with other important legislation which may be there to protect you.
