QUEST BROTHERS CLASSIC CARS: Bringing A Classic Affair to the people of Hemingford
A Classic Affair was created in 2016 by Paul and Hazel, bringing a charity classic car and motorcycle event to the Cambridgeshire village of Hemingford Grey, near St. Ives. Each year, profits from the event are donated to our chosen charity, Magpas Air Ambulance, which brings crucial life-saving care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in the East of England and beyond. Paul and Hazel work with classic cars on a daily basis, restoring and maintaining them at Quest Brothers Classic Cars, meeting lots of like-minded enthusiasts along the way. They are keen to bring other enthusiasts, the community and local businesses together, to step back in time for an afternoon of classics, attractions and good food! Having both grown up locally, Paul and Hazel wanted to share their passion and give something to the community at the same time, and A Classic Affair was born!
MAGPAS AIR AMBULANCE: Lifesaving care by land, by air
Magpas Air Ambulance brings crucial lifesaving care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in the East of England and beyond. Some of the UK’s expert doctors and paramedics volunteer their own time to offer treatments at the scene of emergencies usually only available in a hospital. They are not a state-funded service and rely on generous public donations to continue saving lives. Since 1971 they’ve treated over 60,000 patients. The Magpas Air Ambulance medical team receives enhanced training which allows them to offer procedures and treatments at the scene, like general anaesthetic, which is usually only available in a hospital. This means that the frontline care the team delivers doesn’t just save lives, it helps seriously ill and injured people return to a good quality of life. The oldest emergency medical charity in the UK, Magpas Air Ambulance started life as a voluntary service in 1971, it was founded by two doctors, the charity has a strong clinical heritage. Today, it offers pioneering training to doctors and paramedics wishing to specialise in pre-hospital emergency medicine, for which it is renowned in the medical world.

And to all of our family and friends for your help (and baking skills!!), we couldn’t have done it without you! We’ll update you in a few days of the final figure, but after a quick count, we’ve raised over £1500 for Magpas Air Ambulance! Well done everyone!
