Honourable and personal residential letting experts

When we started our business we committed to invest at least 1% of our profits in charitable activities. We are pleased to say we have consistently done that every year, donating over £17,000 to charity so far, plus a further £20,000 either through fundraising or other support.

We ask our customers to help us select the charity we support. Currently we are proud they asked us to support:

CTC supports family carers of all ages across the county and also offers flexible, professional care services to adults and children with a range of disabilities and health conditions. Our aim is to raise £4,000 to fund a much needed holiday for young carers who would not get any break otherwise.

We also support our community more generally:

We actively supply work experience placements to help people get a foothold on the employment ladder. We do not use these people to supplement our staff, but ensure they have meaningful work which they feel is relevant.

We started and sponsored a photo competition for people attending schools in Cambridgeshire to capture the positive aspects of life in Cambridgeshire.

Our staff all get paid for 2 days a year to do work for, or in support of charity.

Highlights of our Charitable activities

  • In 2017 Matthew took part in the Agents Strictly Come Dancing Challenge, raising further funds so young carers could get a much needed holiday. When combined with our previous efforts over £5,200 was raised for this cause.
  • In 2016 we raised over £800 to buy turkeys so 42 disadvantaged families could enjoy a Christmas Lunch. Also Maxine took part in the Agents Strictly Come Dancing Challenge (and won!), raising nearly £4,000 for Agents Giving.
  • In 2015 we raised nearly £1,500 toward our £4,000 target so young carers can have a holiday.
  • In 2013 we were key sponsors of the Pedal for Pounds charity bike ride between St Ives in Cornwall and St Ives in Cambridgeshire raising over £8,000 for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice and MAGPAS.

We are constantly alert to opportunities to help those around us.

£7,000 raised for Young Carers

Over 2016 and 2017 the team focused all their fundraising efforts on securing enough money for Carers Trust Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk to arrange for at least 10 young carers to get a much needed break. There were all sorts of events, culminating in Mattie doing the Agents Strictly Come Dancing competition in December 2017. See the video and read more here.

Maxine Lester's Turkey Appeal

As part of our support for our chosen charity Carers Trust Cambridgeshire, in 2016 we raised funds to buy Christmas turkeys for 37 families with carers. We know the Carers Trust support many families who experience a whole range of difficulties, so the gift of festive food is greatly appreciated to help make their Christmas special.

Our landlords, tenants and friends generously helped us raise over £800 for this appeal, marvellous, thank you!
